Heather Smith, Ph.D., has been providing counseling to children, adults, couples, and families for over 30 years. Dr. Smith received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee. She then obtained her Master’s in Counseling from Clemson University, followed by her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Smith is a member of the American Psychological Association, and has previously held state offices with the American Counseling Association. Dr. Smith is licensed as a Professional Counselor in the states of Connecticut and Virginia.
In addition to providing therapy, Dr. Smith enjoys teaching. She has taught multiple classes and seminars for college students, parents, and professionals on a variety of topics around the country on topics such as:
Dr. Smith’s writing includes multiple curriculum for training professions in working with individuals who have both substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses.
